+977 9764792172Manaslu Circuit Trek, you might have heard or already experienced this trek, but there is also a shorter version that lets you explore the base of Mt. Manaslu world’s eight highest mountain without the additional days required for the full circuit. You will follow the same valley, high passes and even the same remote village. You just skip few of the slower section at the start and end of the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek.
This trekking route is located in Gorkha and Manaslu region far from the popular area like エベレスト (NAIST) と アンナプルナ山 地域. This means that the trekkers will move through the forests, terraces, and Tibetan-style villages where the way of living has hardly changed in decades.
This short version is for those who want to have an authentic Manaslu experience but do not have much time. It also perfectly suits trekkers that already have good physical fitness and don’t need extra acclimatization day. The highlight of this trek is ラーク峠 標高の 5,160 m. The trek allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking views of Manaslu, Himlung, and Cheo Himal while crossing this pass.
Before reaching the pass, the trek involves climbing through two villages named Samagaon and Samdo villages which provide visitors the real mountain culture experience of the Himalayas.
Trekkers mostly prefer this ショートマナスルサーキットトレッキング as it removes extra walking days without eliminating important highlights. You will be able to cross the pass, enjoy its views, and experience the culture, all in an effective way.
The Short Manaslu Circuit trek starts off with a long drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, followed by the trek to フィリム. Thereafter, the route goes up the ブディガンダキ川 passing through deep gorges and dense forest.
For first part of trekking days, it involves walking through lower villages such as Philim and Ghap where you can see people cultivate their fields in the terraced hillsides. As the trek progresses, there is an increase in elevation, which change the environment from subtropical forests to alpine environment.
あなたが到着したとき Shyala and Samagaon、あなたは見ることができます influence of Tibetan Buddhist culture. There are stupas, mani walls and monasteries all along the way and the mountain Manaslu starts appearing slowly domination the sky.
The second part of the trek will start from Samagoan to Samdo そして最後に ダルマシャラ located at the bottom of Larkya La. It is the most difficult part of the whole Short Manaslu Circuit Trek in terms of both height and terrain. It will be the highest altitude of 5,160メートル; you will cross in this trek.
After crossing the pass, you will go further down the route through ビムタン and continues toward Tilche and Dharapani. From Dharapani, a final drive will take you back to Kathmandu.
As compared to the standard version of the trek, this one allows you to cover shorter distances at lower altitudes without compromising any major places along the way.
Short Manaslu Circuit Trek is high recommended for those who have good fitness levels and is seeking adventure in trekking. No specialized skills of rock climbing and mountaineering are needed, but you should be ready for long days of trekking and challenging weather condition.
Even a beginner can make it through the Manaslu Circuit as long as he/she trains properly before starting the trekking. Training could include regular walking and hiking as well as some cardio exercises which will give you more endurance. You should have enough endurance to walk 5-7 hours a day in rocky trails.
In recent times, one of the notable changes is the increased flexibility with the regulations regarding trekking in the restricted zone of Manaslu. The advantage for solo trekkers is that they can now join on restricted area independently as long as they booked with an official agency and got all the required permits but still requires a licensed guide. Having a guide is a good thing as he will assist you with the routes and safety issues and will check your gear.
This Short Manaslu Circuit Trek is just perfect for those who seek for a quieter alternative from other popular trekking trails in Nepal because it is truly unique remoteness.
The journey starts with a long drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, passing through hilly areas and valleys. As you reach Arughat, your trekking journey begins following the Budhi Gandaki River towards Philim, which is a village settled by the Gurungs.
This day marks the beginning of the entire itinerary for the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek. Along with the scenic ride, you get to experience village life in Nepal.

Our walk today is along the Budhi Gandaki, passing over some suspension bridges across the white water of the river. You will walk through a very thick forest, with bamboo, rhododendrons, and oaks that line our way.
The environment now begins to feel more natural, with less villages around and the scenery becomes wilder. Waterfalls can be seen on the rock formations, mostly after rains.
There is a change in the cultural aspect of our trekking journey at Ghap, as there is more Tibetan Buddhism influence evident from the prayer flags and small chortens. The valley is narrow, surrounded by hills covered in forests.

The trail now begins to ascend more with significant elevations increase as we come out of the forests. Pines and firs take the place of the subtropical plants in the forest, and you begin to see some peaks from the mountains emerging through the gaps in the ridge.
The villages get smaller and scattered due to the low population density in the region. Mani stones and monasteries appear more frequently on the trekking route.
Shyala provides one of the first panoramic views of Mt. Manaslu. This village is quite remote and quiet with traditional stone houses and you will stay here for tonight.

It is an easier walking day, focusing on acclimatization. You will take a short side hike to visit Pungyen Gompa, an ancient monastery with amazing views of the south face of Manaslu.
The walk isn’t particularly challenging, however, due to the altitude, it feels harder than it should. The path will lead you to Samagaon, one of the villages that you will visit during the trekking.
Samagaon is located at an altitude lower than that of Manaslu Base Camp and known as a natural stopover for the trekking. Most tourists like to spend an extra night there.

As you leave Samagaon, you will travel through an area with less vegetation and rocky terrain. But , the views of Mount Manaslu and other mountains will accompany you all throughout your day.

Today’s trek is less in distance but is much more difficult because of the elevation gain. There will be a crossing of a suspension bridge followed by an ascent towards Dharmashala, which is also called Larkya Phedi.
It is not a real village and has only some basic teahouses that are set up to help trekkers prepare themselves for tomorrow’s pass crossing. The lodging is quite modest, and there is a sharp decline of temperature after sunset.
The reason why such place was chosen is strategic because it helps shorten the distance to the pass the next day

Today marks the highlight of the journey. You will start very early morning, even before sunrise, that helps to avoid the wind that blows throughout the day near the pass.
Climbing up the Larkya La at 5,160 meters is gradual and tiring, especially when it is covered with snow and loose rocks. But after reaching the summit, it offers spectacular view of Manaslu, Himlung Himal, and Cheo Himal.
The descent to Bimthang is long and steep, passing through deep gorges of glaciers. It can be an exhausting day, but seeing the breathtaking scenery of Bimthang makes the effort worth it.

The rest of the day is relatively easier following the pass. The track goes downhill through forested area with rhododendron and pine trees appearing again as we go down.
There will be some views of the Manaslu and Himlung Himal mountain ranges for some time before entering the forests once again. The villages begin to appear indicating that you are now descending back to the low lands.

This trek is classified as moderate challenging. Although this trek is not the toughest one in Nepal, the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek is physically demanding, as it involves more effort than other popular and easier trails like プーンヒル (NAIST) と ゴレパニ.
On average, the daily walk will last between 5 to 7 hours, while some days will last even longer, especially the day when you need to cross Larkya La Pass. It is the most difficult and longest part of the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary because crossing this pass required early waking up in the freezing cold and making a very long descent down to Bimthang.
During the trek, altitude gain is also quite significant as the trek start from about 600 meter in Arughat (NAIST) と reaches above 5,000 meters. In such altitude, it can lead to altitude sickness if not careful enough.
To complete this trek successfully a good level of fitness is very important. Cardio exercise, hiking practice and strength training must be done before the real training begins. Previous experience in trekking is not required, but it makes a big difference in dealing with long days and high altitude.
Then is the Short Manaslu Circuit trek suitable for beginners? Yes, it is quite possible, if they are fit and motivate trekkers but not really the best option to start as your first trek. The sky remains quite clear in early spring, but the afternoon skies may begin to get cloudy in April and May. Larkya La Pass is also easily accessible, with little snowfall and visibility is good in the morning.
Autumn is also the most favored season for this trek. The sky remains clear throughout, providing one of the most spectacular views of the mountains. Trail conditions remain quite favorable, with little snowfall at Larkya La Pass.
Winter months are relatively cold and chilly, especially at high altitudes which makes it quite difficult than another season. Larkya La Pass may be covered in a lot of snow, making the journey risky. Only a few trekkers undertake the trek during winter months because trekkers are offered amazing sights without many people around them.
The Monsoon season is not the best time for undertaking the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek since frequent rainfall makes the path very slippery and leeches are all over the lower forest. It will not be possible to see the mountains due to clouds, and there will also be increased chances of landslides along the Budhi Gandaki valley.
For most trekkers, autumn and spring remain the two best times to do this trek. Both the seasons allow easy track conditions, safer crossings of passes, and clear vision for the views. .
The highest altitude of the entire Short Manaslu Circuit Trek itinerary is at Larkya La pass, sitting at 5,160 meters. Crossing the Larkya La pass is the main goal of this trek which requires both mental and physical toughness and it defines the whole experience of your Manaslu Circuit Trek 9 days.

Teahouses are the primary means of accommodation on the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek. This is an affordable type of housing, small and family-run lodges, providing comfortable rooms to rest for a night.
Rooms in the teahouses are shared rooms, with two single beds, a pillow, and a blanket. The walls in the room are very thin, which means that one will need a good sleeping bag for comfort, especially above an altitude of about Samdo and Dharmashala.
Most of the bathrooms in the teahouses are shared bathrooms, and squat toilets are seen after Samagaon. There are some lower teahouses with attached bathrooms, although they are not common above. There are hot showers at almost all teahouses but not included in the package. This is less as you get higher up in altitude due to the less gas systems.
There is electricity available for charging mobile phones and cameras, but most teahouses require paying some amount of money for it. It is good to carry your power bank with you as an alternative.
Many teahouses have Wi-Fi, but the speed and efficiency reduce considerably with an increase in altitude. Some teahouses even charge extra for using the Internet service and there is no Internet connection beyond Samdo.
Food on the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek is basic, but the meal itself is also an important part of the journey and not just food.
ダルバート is the common food of every trekker for a reason. It is a dish that includes rice, lentil soup, vegetable curry, and a pickle, and most tea houses refill it for free. People say that “dal bhat power” makes you climb even the highest hills, and you can truly feel like this after a long and tiring day.
For breakfast, there are porridge, eggs, Tibetan bread or jam and toast to get enough energy to walk a few kilometers. Also, many people start their morning with tea or coffee.
Foods served for lunch and dinner include noodles, soup, fried rice, momo, and plain pasta. There are villages such as Samagaon and Samdo that prepare traditional Tibetan foods like thukpa and tsampa, giving the traditional trekking meal a good cultural taste.
The higher the altitude gets, the lesser the choice of meals becomes, and the prices become a little high because the food items are brought up using yaks or carrying in the back of person.
It might not be the best luxury meal you could have, but at least it’s filling and tasty after hours of walking.
A licensed and experienced guide must be hired while trekking this route because the region where Manaslu is located is a restricted one. Nepal’s government makes it mandatory for trekkers to hire a registered guide before obtaining the permit for the trekking.
Besides taking care of permit procedure and arrangement, the registered guide does much for a group. They arrange permit at checkpoint, communicate with the owner of tea houses, and constantly check trekkers to detect the first symptoms of altitude sickness. On a remote path such as this, their knowledge about the region will become very useful.
They also deal with small logistic aspects of trekking. The guide arranges accommodation in peak periods and adapts walking pace in case any member feels uncomfortable. These skills are crucial for the area close to the ラルキア・ラ峠.
Porter services are optional but truly deserve consideration. Carrying your own backpack through several days in the mountains is a heavy burden which becomes more difficult after passing Samagaon. Porters’ free trekkers from carrying their baggage and concentrate on walking only.
It is advised to keep the weight of each bag for one trekker at about 10-12 kg. It is advised to pack up to 10-12 kilograms in a backpack carried by a porter. Such limitation ensures safety and comfort of porters during the whole trek.
The common arrangement includes hiring one guide per group and one porter for one or two trekkers. Such a proportion makes it possible to provide an adequate service and to spend the Short Manaslu Circuit Trek comfortably and safely.
