Annapurna Trek Cost Per Person

Trekking usually refers to walking tour where you set a destination and walk through the wild nature and diversity of places. Often in the Himalayas, the trekking cost is determined by the specialty and requirements chosen for the destination. Trekking is the teacher that teaches a very important lesson about how little one needs to be happy! – Food, Clothes and  Shelter. When you are on the track, all you think about is conquering the destination while enjoying the surrounding.

When talking about Annapurna region, it is one of the most famous trekking destination in the world. Mount Annapurna is the tenth highest peak in the world and lies in Annapurna Conservation Region. This region has two variations of treks: Annapurna Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit Trek. Generally, Annapurna Base Camp is also called as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, which leads to the base camp of Mount Annapurna. The Circuit Trek is the wonderful round trek over the Annapurna Conservation Area.

These two treks are vary in nature and specialty themselves. The trekking route for the Annapurna Base Camp starts from Nayapul, and with including the sunrise views from Ghorepani Poon Hill this trek takes you to the base camp of Annapurna and ends in Nayapul after 9 days of walking in the Himalayas, reaching a height of 4,130m at Base Camp.

The Circuit Trek however, is different in nature. It requires determination. The highest point to reach on this trek Thorong La Pass at 5,416m, which is higher than the Everest Base Camp Trek. This trek starts from the Jagat and by walking around Annapurna Conservation Area for 9 days it concludes in Pokhara. Our standard AC itinerary includes one acclimatization day during the trek and  5 days extra in Kathmandu, from Kathmandu and to Kathmandu covering arrival and departure.

You can expect an average daily expense of $100, and for appreciating the local guides and porters, we suggest tipping them an extra $100 each for their work. Other than this, you require he best quality trekking gears such as:

Bag pack:

  • Comfortable backpack with adjustable straps (40-70 liters).

Footwear’s:

  • Hiking boots with ankle support.
  • Lightweight camp shoes or tennis shoes for relaxing.

Clothing:

  • Moisture-wicking base layers (long-sleeve and short-sleeve).
  • Insulating layers: Heavy fleece or down jacket.
  • Waterproof shell with a hood.
  • Lightweight windbreaker.
  • Waterproof pants.
  • Sturdy trekking pants (2 pairs).
  • Comfortable hiking shorts.

  • Long underwear (2 sets).
  • Multiple pairs of moisture-wicking hiking socks (7 pairs).

  • Lightweight emergency shelter or space blanket.
  • Duct tape for quick gear repairs.
  • Plastic bags for organizing and protecting items.
  • Trash bags for carrying out waste.

Some of the gears such as Sleeping Bags, Down Jackets, Trekking Poles are available for rent in Kathmandu. If you are a beginner trekker and want to trek more destinations in the future, our recommendation is to buy them. It is good to be prepared by yourself, which will be a good investment for a long time.
