Itinerary of Exciting 3-Day Bhutan Tour
Day 01: Arrival and Sightseeing in Paro
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Begin your journey in Bhutan with a visit to the National Museum, housed in the Ta Dzong (watchtower). Here, you’ll get an introduction to Bhutan’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Afterward, take a short drive to the Rinpung Dzong, a beautiful fortress that houses the monastic body and district government offices.
Continuing your cultural experience, visit the oldest and most revered temple in Bhutan, the 7th-century old Kyichu Lhakhang. This ancient temple is special as it is said to hold down the left foot of a demoness, which makes it a spiritually significant place.

Day 02: Excursion to Thimphu
After early breakfast, trek to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). This sacred monastery dramatically clings to a cliff face 900 meters above the Paro valley floor. The 2-3 hour trek through pine forests is moderately challenging but incredibly rewarding. Legend says Guru Rinpoche meditated here for 3 years, 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days, thus, is one of Buddhism’s most holy sites.
Then, take a breakfast by descending down and make your way to the Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. Start your exploration with the King’s Memorial Chorten, a landmark of the city with its golden spires and bells. Next, visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, offering a panoramic view of the Thimphu valley.
Also, explore the Takin Preserve, where you’ll see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Then go to the Tashichho Dzong, the fortress which houses the throne room and offices of the King. Possibly, visit the ancient Changangkha Lhakhang temple, which sits high on a ridge overlooking Thimphu, where local parents take their new infant children for blessings.
If you planned well a time and date then, visit to the weekend market (Friday-Sunday) to pick up some Bhutanese souvenirs. Drive back to Paro for the night.

Day 03: Departure

Best Time for the Tour
The best time for a Bhutan tour is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months have a pleasant climate, which makes exploring the monuments fantastic. As these two seasons are peak time to travel in Bhutan, you will see other tourists as well.
Likewise, you can also travel to Bhutan in summer/monsoon (June to August) and winter (December to February), but season’s challenges may faced.
