Imagine standing at 4,130 meters surrounded by giants of Himalayan peak and then flying above the peak with Helicopter Return experience and trust me, there really is nothing in Nepal quite like it.
All the other treks require you to trek all the way to your destination and then trek back in the same way. However, here you will be earning each meter of the altitude gain while trekking through the misty forest, farmland terraces and snowy ridges of the mountains. After reaching the peak point, you will get the chance to fly back from the base camp over the same peaks.
The trek takes you through some of the most varied landscapes in all the Himalayas. You trek through villages of the Gurungs and Magars which still hold deep historical culture, you cross over suspension bridges above glaciers and wake up to the morning sunlight which gives Machapuchare its golden and pink glow. Each and every day spent on this trek is itself an adventure.
The Annapurna Base Camp Heli Trek attracts a great variety of adventure seekers. The main reason why some choose this trek is to save time. Other people choose the heli trek to experience how it will feel to fly and look over the Annapurna Sanctuary. In both cases, there is a lot more you get than expected from a trek.
There are many trekking trails in Nepal. However, not many of them feature the beauty of nature, culture, altitude experience, affordable return by air. This trek combines all of them and offers an exceptional experience.
ABC Trek with Helicopter Return will make your dreams of the Himalayan peaks come true in real life. It is adventurous, stunning, and simply unforgettable from the first step until the last flight.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return Route
Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Heilcopter Return Trek route takes off from Kathmandu before heading to Pokhara, the entry point for the entire Annapurna Region. After reaching there with a filght, you will follow up with a scenic drive to Nayapul in a private jeep, after which marks the first step of their Annapurna Base Camp Heli Trek.
The trails now start to ascend to Tikhedhunga and then all the way up through the famous stone staircase to Ulleri which is a tough climb but rewarding with beautiful views all around. From Ulleri, it goes through the rhododendron forests all the way to Ghorepani (2,860), which is considered one of the best viewpoints for the Annapurna Region.
Next morning, you will wake up early to climb Poon Hill at 3,200 m, which offer one of the most stunning sunrise views of all Nepal. The view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre from the sunrise viewpoint is definitely the highlight of the Annapurna Base Camp Heli Trek. After the sunrise, the trails continue toward Tadapani.
After reaching Tadapani, the path descends toward Chomrong, which is a beautiful Gurung Village from where you can see the view of Annapurna South. This particular day gives you the best Gurung cultural experience of the entire trek.
Then, the path takes a descent into the valley of Modi Khola via Sinuwa, Bamboo, Dovan, and ends at Annapurna Sanctuary, where the scenery changes completely and the trek turns wild, glacial, and dominated by the giants.
Finally, the last trekking day will take you from Dovan to Himalaya Hotel, Deurali, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and to the Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m. Once you reach there and get surrounded by some of the world’s highest mountains, you will know that it is the best part of your trip.
Then, the ABC Trek with Helicopter Return offers you the most exciting part of the entire journey – a scenic helicopter ride back from the base camp to Pokhara and then an internal flight to Kathmandu.

The highest altitude that you reach in this trekking route is the Annapurna Base Camp, which is located at 4,130 m which can cause altitude sickness if you are not careful enough.
Another challenging part of the trail is the long stone stairway starting from Nayapul to Ulleri. As for the part from Dovan to ABC, you have to maintain endurance at a certain level as the altitude grows rapidly. If you hire a good guide and prepare properly, most of the moderately fit trekkers can easily pass through.
